Using JSON Tool means accepting these terms. They are written to be short enough to read.
1. The service
JSON Tool is a free browser-based utility for formatting, minifying and validating JSON. No account is required and no fee is charged. The site may be changed, feature-limited or taken offline at any time, without notice.
2. Provided "as is", with no warranty
The tool is provided as is and as available, without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. Validation uses your browser's built-in JSON parser; that parser defines what counts as valid JSON, and its behaviour can differ slightly between engines and versions.
3. Verify anything that matters
Do not treat the output as authoritative for critical systems. If a payload drives a payment, a migration, a deployment or a legal filing, check it independently before you use it. Key sorting deliberately reorders fields, which changes the byte-for-byte representation even though the data is equivalent.
4. Your data and your responsibility
You keep all rights to the content you paste. Since nothing is uploaded, the site owner cannot access, back up, recover or audit your input — and cannot help you retrieve work lost from the input box. Do not paste content you are not permitted to process with a web tool, and make sure using one complies with your employer's or client's policies.
5. Acceptable use
Do not use the site to distribute malware, to probe or degrade the service for other users, or to misrepresent its output as an endorsement. Automated scraping of the site is not permitted.
6. Third-party services
The page loads Google Analytics for usage statistics and is delivered through Vercel's network. Those providers apply their own terms and privacy policies, which are outside this site's control. What is collected and why is set out in the privacy policy.
7. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the operator is not liable for any loss arising from use of the tool, including lost data, lost profits or business interruption, even if advised of the possibility. The tool is free; that is the risk you accept in return.
8. Changes to these terms
These terms may be updated. The date at the top of this page reflects the current version; continued use after an update means the revised terms apply.
